🐋 Mrs. Medlin’s 3rd Grade Class is diving into learning about whales! 🌊
Students have been learning all about these amazing ocean animals and even created some adorable whale crafts! How fun! 🖍️🐳
Their whale unit isn’t over yet — students will also be completing a writing project, painting whales, making whale origami, and following along with an Art Hub video to draw their very own whales! 🎨✂️📚
We love seeing creativity and learning come together in the classroom! It’s a great day to be a Pinto! ❤️

🌟 Calling All Local Businesses & Community Partners! 🌟
During the 2025-2026 school year, California R-1 proudly launched a new staff recognition tradition called ❤️ Pinto Pride ❤️
Each month, students, staff, and families nominated and voted for a staff member who went above and beyond through kindness, leadership, dedication, and support for others. Through our “Loving Our Pintos” initiative, we were able to recognize the incredible employees who make a difference in the lives of our students every single day.
Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community sponsors, each monthly winner received:
🎉 A prize basket filled with favorite things and donated items
👕 A custom Pinto Pride t-shirt
⭐ An exclusive Pinto Pride decal reserved only for winners
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to EXPAND the program by recognizing both:
🍎 Teacher of the Month
🛠️ Support Staff Member of the Month
That means we will celebrate 18 outstanding staff members throughout the school year!
💙 BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💙
We are currently seeking businesses and community sponsors willing to support Pinto Pride through:
✔️ Monthly donated items
✔️ One-time donations for the school year
✔️ Monetary donations to help purchase prizes and recognition items
In appreciation of your support, sponsoring businesses will be recognized monthly on district social media pages and in our district newsletter.
California R-1 is incredibly blessed to have such a supportive community, and we truly appreciate businesses that invest in our students and staff. It is always a GREAT day to be a Pinto! ❤️💙
If your business is interested in becoming a Pinto Pride sponsor for the 2026-2027 school year, please email me at ashley.benton@califoniak12.org for more information or with any questions. We would love to partner with you to continue recognizing the amazing people who make our district special!
